Beatrice “Dolly” Lillian Meyer, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri, left this world to be with her heavenly family on May 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul N. Meyer, her parents Tom and Lillian Passantino, and her sister, Catherine Lee Schnabel. She is survived by her 5 children: Paula (Pat) Stegmaier of Overland Park, KS, Tom (Jeannie) Meyer of Raleigh, NC, Karen Meyer of Raymore, MO, Michael (Pam) Meyer of Peculiar, MO and Lisa (John) Hanna of Knoxville, TN; her sister Vicki (Tom) Farr of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Dolly was born on March 24, 1927 in Kansas City, graduated from Glennon High School in 1944, and attended business school at Avila College. She learned to play the piano and organ and was once on the cover of a magazine as that issue’s cover girl! She didn’t learn to drive until she was in her 30’s and never learned to swim! She loved to travel, cook, sew, shop, and spend time with her loved ones. Her professional life was spent as a secretary but her most important role was taking care of her family. She was a kind, nurturing, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by so many and, if you said “I love you” her reply would always be “I love you more.”
Visitation will be held on June 8, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. Committal service will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City.
