Bernice Marie Brinkley, 94, of Blue Springs, MO passed away December 28, 2020. Graveside service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, MO on Mon., January 4th at 1pm. Bernice was born on September 28, 1926 in Montevallo, MO to Cecil and Lucy Wilkinson. She worked in shipping yards in California during WWII. Bernice was an active member and volunteer at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Her hobbies included playing Canasta, gardening and working in her yard, and many other outdoor activities like fishing. Bernice was an avid China and oil painter as well as an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Some of her favorite foods were fried chicken with white gravy on bread, Post Toasties, potted meat and carrot jello salad. Favorite TV shows were 48 Hours, The Chase and watching American Ninja Warriors with her grandkids. Bernice truly enjoyed dressing up her goose statue for special occasions and appropriate seasons. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George Brinkley; her parents; and a sister, Dorothy McCollum. She is survived by her children, Gary Brinkley, Judy Tucker (Lloyd) and Bonnie Brinkley (Scott Gagnon); four grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Megan and Pryce and four great grandchildren, Abby, Brinkley, Malcolm and Maude.
