Bonnie was born in Albany, Missouri to Dale Francis and Elizabeth Jeane (Craven) Stagner on September 18, 1951. She attended Albany high school and graduated in 1969. Upon graduation she and her sister, Billie, moved to Kansas City. In 1971, Bonnie began a multi-decade career at Hallmark Cards, Inc. The big city is where she found and married the love of her life and where they raised their two children, Travis and Tina. After retiring from Hallmark, Bonnie joined Dan to help manage their “vast carpet empire”, Carpet By Design, Inc. in Raytown, Missouri. After Danny’s sudden passing in 2002, Bonnie stepped into his role as president and worked the rest of her life taking care of flooring needs while also cultivating meaningful relationships with her clients.
As many know, Dan never met a stray dog he didn’t bring home and make a part of their family and Bonnie somewhat reluctantly played the part of Dog-mom. She often joked how Danny loved their dog, MooMoo, more than her. She and Danny were avid Chiefs fans being season-ticket holder‘s for the better part of 40 years. One of her greatest joys in life was sharing those season tickets with countless people. Especially those who had never attended a game before. That’s who she was, generous to her core.
She loved her grandchildren more than any other humans on the planet. Boy was she proud of them! She was their Granny and became Granny to all of their friends.
Bonnie was a born-again Christian and attended church at Abundant Life in Lee Summit, Missouri. She loved Jesus and studying her bible was a beloved routine in her daily life.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband; her father; sister Billie Stagner Wingfield and her stepfather, Bob Wilson.
Bonnie is survived by her two beloved children Travis (Kerri) Dietz and Tina (Kyle) McKinney; Five grandchildren, Megan, Jacob and Jarrett Dietz and Kellen and Katie McKinney; her mother, Jeane Wilson; sisters, Bettie (Jim) Lee, Barbara (Jerry) Popplewell, Sandra Matthews and Barbara (Dave) Murray; 12 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Services will be at Floral Hills, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. on Monday, June 3, 2019 beginning at 2:00pm with burial after. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bonnie’s name to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
