Growing up the kids recalled Nanu taking them to Lake Jacomo catching crawdads. He like nothing more than a good old fashioned crawfish boil. Nanu was a regular aerial tennis player at the Jewish Community Center on Holmes Rd in his younger days followed by game evaluation time at Boots and Coats. Later he picked up golf and loved it so much he played regularly in the KC seniors events. Nanu loved time with family and friends. Nothing brought more joy to him than having a happy hour in his kitchen surrounded by his family. Each of his grown children have individual memories of those get-togethers. Carl loved a great meal, the hotter the better. He loved Nani’s home cooking the most. Up until recently he and Jo enjoyed dining with neighbor friends at the Sandrap or trips to the Jazz for great Cajun food. Finally Nanu showed humble generosity. He took care of family and friends when they were in need and never once mentioned it. When practicing family care he often helped those in need by providing medical services in many cases never being compensated. In his later years he loved watching a good western movie with his wife sitting next to him.
