Carolyn (Williams) Douglas, aged 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on April 5, 1954, Carolyn, affectionately known as Bitsy, was the fraternal twin to Carl Williams. They were the 3rd set of twins born to Romelda (Rice) Williams.
She attended primary and secondary school in the Greater Kansas City, MO area. She didn’t complete high school but was determined to continue her education by completing the GED Program. She worked in many fields. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at St. Mary's Catholic Hospital providing care in the maternity ward to mothers and babies. She also served in the fast-food industry, but her most cherished role was that of a mother, taking pride in staying home to raise her family.
Bitsy was a quiet soul always deep in thought and thinking of her next steps. She stayed to herself, but you could always catch her moving about in the city going shopping. She was a constant walker and bus commuter. She knew how to travel the city very well.
On August 27, 1982, Bitsy married the love of her life George Douglas with whom she shared 3 children Prince, Brandon and Cyrena. She has a host of grandchildren to live on her memories.
A lover of writing, Bitsy spent countless hours documenting her life and dreams. Her other pastimes included watching soap operas, westerns, and court shows, which brought her much joy and relaxation.
Bitsy is survived by her three children, Prince Williams, Brandon Williams, and Cyrena Pryce, son-in-law Dameon Pryce; and brothers: Leon Woodard, Michael Woodard, Donald Williams, Ronald Williams; sister: Janie Allen and host of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Romelda Williams; her sister, Veronica Woodard; and her brothers, Phillip Williams, Vernon Woodard, Charles Woodard, and Carl Williams, the latter being her twin.
The family invites friends and loved ones to a visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Drexel Hall, 3301 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO 64111.
