Carolyn Sue Jones

Sue was born on September 5th, 1940 to proud parents Emory and Daisy Hathaway in Darlington, MO.

Sue enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Raytown, MO.

Sue retired from All State Insurance in the early eighties and went on to the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce as Executive Secretary. She enjoyed going to the Kauffman Theater of Performing Arts and the New Theater in Overland Park. Sue loved going to Palm Springs California in early February. She was also involved with her sister’s antiques and collectibles shop in Independence, MO.

Sue was married to her husband Phil Jones for 55 years.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Phil; daughter, Tammy Sue Gamblin of Bethany MO; grandson, Steve Neland and wife Kelly of Lee's Summit MO; grandson, Shane Kraft of Albany, MO; niece, Dana Rathbun of Independence MO; stepson, Dr. Brad Jones and wife Arlene of Davis CA; stepdaughter, Beth Paschal and husband Darrell of Independence MO.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stan and Eldon Hathaway; sister, Annette (Hathaway) Rathbun; and niece, Debra (Rathbun) Murphy.

Sue will be greatly be missed by those lives she touched.

A private graveside service will be held. A Celebration of Life at V’s Italian Restaurant in Independence, MO will be held at a later date, to be announced. These were Sue’s requests.
