She was born November 21, 1960, at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. The first-born daughter of Mildred Ann Graves and Robert Lee Graves, Cathy was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church. She attended and graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic School before attending high school at Bishop Ward, where she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad.
Very little was more important to Cathy than her family and friends. She was a giving person with a tender heart, an unforgettable and contagious laugh, and an ability to make everything around her more beautiful. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, gardening and, above all else, taking care of the people she loved most.
Cathy was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Robert Lee Graves; and half-brother, Timothy Graves. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Ann Graves; her husband, Charles “Chuck” McGuire; her six brothers and sisters (Terry Graves, Jerry Graves, Robert “Bobby” Graves, Charlie Graves, Blanche McMaster and Judy Graves Francis); her step-daughters (Reggie Fatino, Dawn Marie Johnson and Crystal Parris); many nieces and nephews; and her daughter, Paige Marie Baraban, and her son, Cameron Louis Baraban. She will be forever loved and missed by us and countless more.
Memorial services will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131 on Wednesday, October 3 at 1:00pm in the Main Chapel. A visitation will be held before the service at the same location beginning at noon.
