

Celso “Sal” Arredondo, 89, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on December 24, 2019. He was born August 6, 1930 to Domingo and Maria Arredondo in Saginaw, MI. He married Mary Louise Alvarez in 1952 and had three children. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Sal was a former member of Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church since 1958. He was a computer center operations manager in information services, for Sprint North Supply (now CenturyLink), from 1981 until his retirement in 1994.
Sal enjoyed playing golf and followed his favorite professional golfers, attending various live tournaments. He loved researching and planning vacations and often times, family and friends would join him and Mary on their trips. He traveled often to Mexico City, sometimes twice a year, to spend time with dear family. He was incredibly proud of all of his grandchildren and supported them by attending their athletic games, school events, musical performances, graduations, recitals and other activities they were involved in.
Sal was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary; and infant grandson Keaton L. Murdock. He is survived by his children Damian Arredondo, Kansas City, MO; Diane Smith (Bing), Odessa, MO; Dana Lotz (David), Overland Park, KS; his grandchildren that he loved and adored, Devon Arredondo (Elizabeth), Fayetteville, AR; Garrett Murdock, Kansas City, MO; Spencer Murdock, Overland Park, KS; Kaitlyn Lotz, Overland Park, KS and Connor Lotz, St. Louis, MO; and his sister Antonia Ortiz, Kansas City, MO.
Visitation will be 9am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st Terr, Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.water.org or St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
