Charlene E. “Charlie” Casterline passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be held Thursday, May 18, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131. Visitation will be from 4:30-5:30pm. The Celebration of life Ceremony will begin at 5:30pm. To celebrate Charlie’s love for Christmas the service will have a Christmas Theme.
Charlie was born February 18, 1950 in Washington, D.C. She spent many years as a dental assistant, followed by a very successful career as a residential real estate agent. Charlie was a wonderful wife, friend, mother, sister, partner, and Grammy. She was married to Steve Casterline, Sr. for 35 years, followed by a wonderful relationship with John Kessell.
She is survived by her life-partner of 11 years, John Kessell; her son, Steve Casterline, Jr.; grandchildren, Jordan Casterline, Rylee Casterline, and Nick Casterline; and brother, Denny Krause.
Charlie was a breath of fresh air. Her laughter and kindness were infectious, and touched anyone who entered her life. Charlie was loved by everyone around her and will be greatly missed.
