

Charlotte Marie Whitworth, 91, passed away on April 21, 2021. Charlotte was born to Ray and Blanche Tomlin in Mooresville, Mo., where she spent her childhood. Charlotte married Bob Whitworth in 1953 and they were happily married for 56 years until Bob’s death in 2010.
Charlotte played women’s basketball at Business College in Davenport, Iowa and traveled with her team all through the United States, Mexico and Central America. Her nickname was “Tardy”. She worked for the Food and Drug Administration and Sertoma, Inc. Charlotte and Bob were both very active in their church. They loved to camp and travel with family, exploring all parts of the country for over 40 years. Charlotte was a breast cancer survivor and participated in various events to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters; one stepson, Robert Whitworth; one son, Phillip Guy Whitworth and one grandson, Ryan Whitworth.
She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Roberts and Geraldine Baxter; three daughters, Gail Christopherson, Glenda Christopherson, Gwen Whitworth; one stepson, James Whitworth; eight grandchildren, Phillip Christopherson, Christin Russell, David Whitworth, Lauren Christopherson, Collin Russell, Paul Whitworth, Sara Stebbins and Cole Christopherson; two step-granddaughters, Debbie Varner and Katherine Whitworth. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; Bentley Stebbins, Ryan Whitworth and Cameron Whitworth.
A Celebration Service in memory of Charlotte will be held at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 E. 79th St, Raytown, MO 64138, on Friday, June 18th at noon. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 19th in Mooresville, Mo.
Flowers may be received at the church Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Kansas City Hospice House.
