Cherene "Cheri" Shireman, 82, of Raytown, Missouri, was born on June 9, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 in the home of her daughter with whom she lived, surrounded by her loving family.
Cheri devoted 30 years of her life to her career as a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She built long lasting relationships and found a second family among both staff and residents in her time of service there.
As a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, she maintained a strong and enduring relationship with her faith throughout her life.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including reading from her extensive collection of books, baking pies and cookies, crocheting blankets, decorating for the holidays, working puzzles, gardening, and watching the wildlife wandering through her backyard. Cheri treasured all of her pets throughout her lifetime and always had a home for one in need. She especially cherished the gatherings hosted in her home for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion with family and friends.
Cheri was preceded in death by her son, Scott Shireman; her mother, Bernice Buness; and her grandmother, Bridgetta Wells.
Survivors include Sandra, Jerry, Jeff, and Jamie Young (Joseph Gregg); John, Kane (Tristan), Keaton (Abby), and Konnor (Kaleena) Shireman; and Jim, Connie, Jackie, Michael, and Christina Shireman. Cheri was also a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
