Death is never easy; many find it a time for mourning those we have lost while others decide it is a time to celebrate the enchanted life of that individual shared with us.
Cherie Darling was loved by many, still is, but now god has blessed us with another guardian angel to watch over us. It was her calming nature that will make her memory last far longer than any of our lifetimes. Along with fast cars and awesome cruisers Cherie enjoyed many other virtues of a fulfilled life. Cherie found herself with numerous passions so many it would overwhelm the ordinary person but we all know Cherie was anything but ordinary. She was a woman from many walks of life, several stories to tell, lots of honor and dedication to anything she put her mind to. Cherie was most known for her love of riding (motorcycles and horses), camping, sewing, quilting and canning which were her long time favorite hobbies. While enjoying the outdoors and riding the Harley with her beloved husband of nine years, Scott, she was also known for her outgoing personality which was highly recognized when she become a lifetime member of the Greater Kansas City Hog Chapter. She worked at Blue Springs Harley Davidson from 1998 to 2005 while finding time to also be an advocate sponsor for the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She started working for Industrial Lumber, as an accounting controller from 2006 to present. Cherie’s devotion and dedication to volunteering and helping others stood out like a bright super nova in the sky. In the last year, she took great responsibility in helping with rescue dogs and protesting animal cruelty.
The point to this summary is Cherie was such an extraordinary woman that her life could not be summed up in a couple paragraphs, to tell the truth this lady was the real deal you might not even be able to sum up her daily events in a research paper. Anyone who had the chance to meet Cherie knows exactly how that feels. A woman of many talents would sum this up. The world has lost a mother, a wife, a sister-in law, a daughter, a sister, a grandma, a family member, and most of all a true hero.
Cherie was born in Omaha, Nebraska but soon became a Kansas girl at heart. Kansas brought her to the best man she had the chance of meeting. The relationship between Scott and Cherie was unbreakable if there was any better match than these two had acquired we would all have to see it to believe it. Scott and Cherie were married in 2004 in Cancun, Mexico where he gave her the gift of his last name. They married in a place as unique as the life they shared together.
Cherie was the “go to girl” if you needed something done. There was nothing this woman could not do. Superman had a competitor in Cherie. Together Scott and Cherie raised three wonderful dogs, Sadie, who passed in 2012, and Max and Bella. Cherie rescued Bella from a local shelter in 2012, who now has become quite the spoiled member of the family.
Cherie was preceded in death by her father, Edward Joseph Mopping and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sixta. She is survived by her husband Scott Darling, parents Sandie and Ric Noring, sister Melody Kapsa, two brothers, Rick Noring, Jr. and David Hilmer, two sisters, Wendy Minks and Nicole Arthur, two sons, Blake Lofgren and Jon Lofgren and four grandchildren.
Cherie’s brothers-in-law, Kenny, Vince, Dave, and Jeff Darling will truly miss her as will Scott’s parents, Bob and Charlotte Darling. Condolences may be offered at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
