

Chester W. Thompson, of Kansas City, Kansas, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2014 at his home. He was born on August 2, 1947 to Murde Thompson and Eva (Dingus) Thompson. Preceding him in death were his parents. He is survived by his brother, Gary A Thompson (Joanne), of Louisburg/Paola, KS; his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Chester achieved the rank of Sgt. in the United States Air Force and served from 1966 to 1972. He was a graduate of Westport High School in 1965, received his Associate in Arts Degree from Penn Valley Community College in 1972, his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rockhurst College in 1975, majoring in Economics and Accounting, and his Missouri State Board Certificate of Accountancy as a CPA in 1981. He was an owner of Linnco Accounting Services Inc. since 2010. He previously worked for the firms of Troupe, Kehoe, Whiteaker & Kent and Deloitte & Touche. He has also farmed in Linn County, Kansas, near LaCygne since 1982 where he spent much of his time when he wasn't traveling.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO followed by a military burial in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Kansas. Donations may be given in his memory to the City Union Mission in Kansas City, MO.
