

Clara Odell Dorsey, 90, went to be with the lord, Thursday, August 5, 2021. Clara was a resident of Carnegie Village in Belton, Missouri. She and her late husband Robert, were long-time residents of Raytown, Missouri.
Clara was born September 6, 1930 to Houston and Stella Canard North in Tupilo, Arkansas. Clara worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator before marrying Robert then became a housewife and a stay at home mother. Clara was very active in Parent Teacher Association when her children were in school. She also volunteered in the bus ministry at her church. She was an avid bowler for many years, enjoyed waterskiing at the lake with family and friends and travelled to many places and on cruises. She painted many beautiful pictures and shared them with her family. Clara loved reading and listening to talking books. Family and friends remember enjoying her delicious pies. She was a member of Manna Fellowship Church and also a long time member of Jolly Sixties where she made friends.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Sharon Kaye (Dennis) Bowe of Summerville, SC, and two sons, Robert Darrell (Barbara Calhoon) Dorsey, Jefferson City, TN and Richard Wayne Dorsey, Anza, CA; sisters, Donna Willoughby, TX, Joann Holzbaur, Pleasant Hill, MO, and Jean Sanders, Independence, MO. She loved her grandchildren, Ashley (Stanley) Wilk, Andrea Bowe, Darrell Lee (Shauna) Dorsey, and great grandchildren, Zoie Wilk, Kayden and Logan Jeske, James and Avery Dorsey, and Hayley, and Lexi Jewell and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
A graveside service for Clara will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside Ave, Independence, MO 64053. Please meet at the cemetery front gate and everyone will be lead over to the graveside.
