

Claude Taylor Harmon, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Research Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, at Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church, 5055 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64133. Private interment in Oakland Cemetery, Buckner, Missouri at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Mr. Harmon was born May 22, 1931 in Granite City, Illinois, son of George O. and Mary Mae (Taylor) Harmon. He retired from the Air Force after 29 years of service as a communications superintendent. Mr. Harmon was a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anita Harmon, brothers Olen and Sonny Harmon, and sisters Virginia Smith, Jane Farris, Barbara Funk and Linda Panter. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife Sharon L. (Cason) Harmon; sons Ron Harmon (Dawn); daughters Cheryl Koch (Joe), Debi Broderick (Tom); stepsons Wayne Chatham (Nanette), Bob Chatham (Sue); stepdaughters Naomi Reiss, Valerie Caye (Denis), Brenda Chatham and Sheila Jakobe (Brian); brother Frank Harmon (Evelyn) and Jack Harmon (Marilyn); sisters Lucy Ure, Pat Bley and Myra Graham (E.W.); seventeen grandchildren, Madyson, Jill, Julie, Travis, Angela, Tommy, Taylor, Tres, Tyler, Dallas, Kali, Troy, Britney, Brandon, Brooke, Adrien and Steffen; and four great-grandchildren.
