Born May 22, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to Doris and Orville H. Mulvania, she was one of five girls and one boy. She met her future husband at a local establishment when her parents took her for a Coke. Richard E. Herdliska, a soldier, fell head over heels on first sight and pursued Corky until she could no longer resist his charms. They were married in 1952. To this union were born five children: Lyndall, Reber, Lois, Darriel and Regina. Following the death of her first husband, she married C. Willie Ellis and he passed away November 13, 2000.
Among the hobbies she enjoyed were bingo, bowling, growing large tomatoes, planting flowers, painting by number, sitting in the sun and enjoying an occasional Miller Lite, especially with tacos or pizza. Corky was a member of American Legion Womens Auxillary Post 188 and could be found helping in the kitchen most of the time. The greatest joy of her life was in traveling which included trips to Las Vegas, Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, San Antonio, a cruise to the Caribbean and her favorite, New York City. She fulfilled her dream to see the Statue of Liberty, whom she referred to as “her” lady. She also enjoyed many small trips to the Lake of the Ozarks where she engaged in her favorite past time of watching people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Orville H. Mulvania, her sisters Lois Morgan, Sue Hurd, Virginia Mulvania, Elenor Mulvania and one brother, Arden Mulvania. She is survived by her children Lyndall Herdliska, Reber Herdliska, Lois Herdliska, Darriel Herdliska and Regina Dreiling; and one sister, Marilyn Vaca. She also leaves eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
