Cynthia Louise Donegan

Cindy was born on May 19, 1952, in Kansas City, MO and passed on April 11, 2023. She unexpectedly passed during the night at her home in Leawood, KS. She was a resident of the Kansas City and Leawood areas for most of her life.

Cindy was married to the late Mike Donegan, owner of Stroud’s Restaurant. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Duffey and her sister-in-law, Debra Duffey. She is survived by her brother, David Michael Duffey and his wife, Jeanne; brother, John Duffey; sister, Cheryl Wendt; nieces, Rachel Alldaffer, Michaela Duffey, Ellen Bogard, Polly Meadows and nephews Eric Wendt, Travis Wendt, Andy Duffey, Joshua Duffey.

Obituaries list the accomplishments of a person’s life, Cindy’s greatest was love. She loved and supported her husband. She loved and supported her family. She loved and supported her friends who grew to be part of her family. Hers was a deep love that is rare and openly expressed, not the everyday love of just kindness and compassion, but from the depths of the heart. She had no biological children of her own but she had many children who knew her love. Love truly was her greatest accomplishment. Just ask those she touched.

A Celebration of Cindy's Life will be held at 12:30pm on Monday, April 24th at Stroud's Chapel, 5410 NE Oak Ridge, Kansas City, MO.
