

Dan was born in Emporia, KS on May 2nd, 1948 to Luis and Rose Gomez. He was the third of nine children and loved his huge family of aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and cousins. He loved to share stories of their countless antics in their hometown.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1966 and later moved to Kansas City, KS where it all began with two. There he would meet the love of his life for 52-years-Carmen Gomez. Married on June 4th, 1970 they would go on to share an inseparable bond building a foundation of family, love, and happiness. Dan wanted to recreate the unity and teachings of family and the love he experienced growing up. Dan and Carmen were blessed with six children.
Dan worked in the automotive-dealer industry for 45 years, where his presence was felt everywhere he went. He was known and loved by many. Dan was never short on advice, bringing encouragement and wisdom to many people, no matter the topic. His love for Tejano music started in his early years, playing in a band with his family. He enjoyed traveling and going to many dances with his wife. Dan was always a man who put his family first and was known for his loving heart. He also adored his 15 grandchildren and was very proud of his family.
Dan was preceded in Death by Bobby Gomez (Son), Luis Gomez (Father), Rose Gomez (Mother), Patricia Gomez (Sister), and Veronica Braman (Sister).
He is survived by his wife Carmen and 5 children; Danny (Son) and wife Lorie Gomez of Kansas City, KS and their 6 children, David (Son) and wife Alisha Gomez of Austin, TX and their 2 children, Annette (Daughter) and husband Daniel Navarro of Grain Valley, MO, and their 3 children, Sabrina (Daughter) Juarez of Oviedo, FL and her child, and Andrew (Son) and wife Rachel Gomez of Grain Valley, MO, and their 3 children.
Dan is loved and will be sorely missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, April 11th, 2022 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO from 6-8 pm. Rosary will begin at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Sacred Heart Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison, Kansas City, MO at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Mt.
