

The visitation will be held Friday, October 29th between 5-7pm; the Graveside for family and close friends will be held Saturday, October 30th at 10am. Both Visitation and Graveside will be held at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Funeral home and Cemetery located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.

David was born on October 23, 1947 in Independence, Missouri. After graduating from Van Horn High School in 1966, he was drafted into the military to serve in the 101st Airborne division of the Army. After courageously serving his country and receiving several recognitions, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star Medal, he returned to the Kansas City area. Upon returning to Kansas City he worked for a Butler manufacturing and later met his wife, Kay. They married on November 12, 1977. In 1980 he began a long career as a sales representative for Beltone Hearing Aids. He was routinely recognized as a leading sales representative in the nation until he retired in 2015. David enjoyed a full life centered around his faith and his family. He was passionate about many things in life, including vegetable gardening, tennis, softball, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Kay (Elias); his daughter, Adena Woltering and her husband, Justin of Overland Park KS and their daughter Aria; and his son, Jeffrey and his wife Lindsay of Kansas City MO and their children Barrett, Genevieve and Canon.
