

David Falk Mattson, 89, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2:00 p.m., at the Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 West 83rd Street, Leawood, KS, 66206. Visitation will be held on Saturday, at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial at a later date in Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leawood Presbyterian Church or Harvesters, The Community Food Network, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64129.
David was born in Minneapolis, MN, on February 11, 1921, to Swan and Amelia Falk Mattson. He graduated from West High School in 1938, and earned a degree in AG Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Charles J. Badger in the Pacific during WWII. He spent his career in the milling industry, working for Archer Daniels Midland, and for the last 38 years for Cereal Food Processors up until his death as Vice Chairman. David was a member of the Leawood Presbyterian Church since 1969. He was an avid skier, ice skater, tennis player and world traveler.
David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Harriett Bymark Mattson; his sister, Jane Johnson of Milaca, MN; daughters, Barbara Renneke and her husband Jim of Minneapolis, MN; Gretchen Lally and her husband Norm of Olsburg, KS; five grandchildren, Jeff Renneke of San Diego, CA; Brad Renneke and his wife Faith of Seoul, South Korea; Mollee Renneke of Minneapolis, MN; Scott Lally and his wife Marlene of Overland Park, KS; Kate Gabriel and her husband Garett of Salina, KS.
