Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Periman Lantz, 63, died peacefully on March 17, 2024 in Kansas City, MO. Debbie was born on Dec. 31, 1960 in Kansas City to Albert Periman and Eden Fox and raised in Greenfield, MO. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1979 after which she moved to Kansas City and began work at Gateway Diner in Riverside. While working there, she met the love of her life, Bill. They were married in 1982 and had one daughter, Rosemary.
In 1991, Debbie began work at the VA hospital in Leavenworth where she worked for 32 years prior to her retirement in September of 2023. She took delight in giving her coworkers a hard time and was immensely proud to serve our nation’s veterans.
Debbie was an animal lover, a nature enthusiast, and a photographer. She could often be found driving back roads, capturing pictures of birds and wildflowers. But more than these hobbies, Debbie loved her family and friends. She was always quick to laugh and even quicker to lend a helping hand. She was unfailingly generous to everyone she knew and was always quick to help in whatever way she was able.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father Albert Periman; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Mary Lantz; grandmother Ida Fox; step fathers, Floyd Gass and Harold Umberger; brother Kevin Umberger; sister-in-law Barbara Lantz, and brother-in-law Kevin Petree.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Bill Lantz; by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Trent Terrell, and their three children, Eliza, Liam and Violet; by her mother, Eden Phillips; brother Bill (Nancy) Periman; brother Jimmy (Justine) Periman; sister Brenda (Gary) Obert; sister Nancy Periman; brother Harold “Leslie”; sister-in-law Jo Osborn; brother-in-law Charles (Willa Jessee) Lantz; brother-in-law Pat (Geri) Lantz; sister-in-law Mary Petree.

The funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville at 10am, April 6th. There will be a brief internment service held at St. Augustine Cemetery in Fidelity, KS at 2pm.
