

Delbert Jackson “Jack” Robinson, age 88, of Bradenton, FL passed away peacefully at home Friday, October 13, 2017. Visitation from 6-8pm on Friday, October 20, 2017 and funeral service 10am on Saturday, October 21, 2017 all at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138.
Jack was born February 14, 1929 in Warrensburg, MO to Theodore Jackson Robinson and Beatrice Elizabeth (Hughes) Robinson. He lived in Kansas City, MO from the age of 16 until he retired and moved to FL in 1984. Jack worked for Trans World Airlines for more than 35 years where, most recently, he was an Avionics Technician. He was the Scoutmaster of Troop 80 in the 1960s and '70s and Sachem in the Tribe of Mic – O – Say. Jack loved poetry and wrote more than 500 poems. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and throwing horseshoes in his backyard. Many friends were made at the DeSoto Mall in Bradenton where he would walk, drink coffee, distribute his self-published poems and discuss life.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Ban) Robinson and a daughter, Theresa Robinson. He is survived by his daughter, Mary C. Farris; sons, Daniel J. Robinson and his wife Roberta, John T. Robinson and Peter F. Robinson; grandchildren, Christopher Farris, Carolyn Farris, Robyn Rhoden and Alyce Mitchell; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
