

Dena Crain, 54, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010, at her home. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 21st, 1:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. A separate Funeral Service will take place at Laclede Baptist Church with the committal in Elmwood Cemetery in Linneus, MO, on Monday, November 22nd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Worlow Street, Laclede, MO, 64651, or the American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Road, Suite 100, Merriam, KS, 66204.
Dena was born October 4, 1956, in Brookfield, MO. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School in 1975. She was a lifelong member of Laclede Baptist Church. Dena received a BA in Elementary Education from UMKC. She served in the U.S. Army for three years, and after eighteen years in the National Guard, retired as a Staff Sergeant. Dena was employed by URS Corp. working in Franklin, TN, and more currently in the Overland Park office. She enjoyed spending time with her family and animals, gardening and riding her Harley with her husband.
Dena was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Mabel Lark and Icie Allen; mother, Georgia Lark; and her sister, Debra Jean Lark. She is survived by her husband, Bill Crain of the home; her father, Alfred Lark of Laclede, MO; brother, Davon and wife Teresa Lark of Brookfield, MO; two nieces, Crystal Lewis and Shanda Mix; one nephew, Austin Lark; two great-nephews, Isaac and Coleman; step-son, Mark Crain of Pleasant Hill, MO; step-daughter, Jennifer Sparks and husband Jason of Tonganoxie, KS; three step-granddaughters; and her dogs, ZuZu and Henrietta. Casual attire and blue jeans are requested at the Kansas City Memorial Service.
