“To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.”
Dennis “Bobo” E. JoRay, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, died unexpectedly Thursday February 10th, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Dennis left this world better than he found it. The outpouring of love from his friends has been an extreme source of comfort for his family.
Dennis was born and raised in Kansas City and was a proud graduate of Bishop Miege High School. If possible, he was an even prouder grad of Kansas State University. He bled purple and was a true Stag.
Professionally, he held many esteemed positions, was quite a salesman and lived throughout the country in places such as, Joplin, Houston, Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Kansas City, gathering an insurmountable amount of friends in each destination.
At the time of his passing, he was a medical consultant for Evergreen Medical, LLC. He loved what he did, and who he did it with. Dennis treasured both the personal and professional relationships he made throughout his life.
Bobo adored and spoiled his family rotten. Recently, he had been helping to take care of his mother Donna, who raised him in tandem with his father Tom, to be the exceptional man he was. He was his sisters personal 911, best friend, hero, and partner in crime. (His kids, niece Aria and nephew Dawson), were told that all they needed to call was B for Bobo, and he would be there, they did and he was. Bobo taught Dawson how to drive and took him to countless football games at K-state, and was proud to coach Aria’s volleyball team and attend every event in their lives, having never missed a single all school mass at JP2 grade school, where students and staff all knew Bobo.
Dennis loved people and all things purple. Actually, he loved almost all things, with the exception of anything having to do with a rare bird named The Jayhawk.
Funeral attendants are encouraged to wear purple in honor of Dennis. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Bishop Miege High School https://securelb.imodules.com/s/100/bp21/interior-sidebar.aspx?sid=100&gid=1&pgid=2231&cid=5915
or St. Isidore Catholic Center of KSU in Dennis’ name would be greatly appreciated.
He was a magnet to attracting good people to himself. Left to honor his “best thing walking on 2 legs status” is his wonderful mom Donna, his adoring sister Barbara, his “the sun rises and sets in their eyes” niece Aria and nephew Dawson , his 90 lb 4 legged sweetheart Gwenny, and a neighborhood beat up cat, who also, yes of course, loved him, too. His “brother from another mother” Scott, caretaker of us all “sister” Vic, his Atlanta friends “brothers” Walt, Brian, and Randy, Kathy in Houston, Kansas City “brothers” Mike, Chris, Pat, Boney, Johnny, Ken , Steve, Troy, his bowling team, His work team Geoff, Jay, and Dick, neighbors Austin, Audrey, CJ, Susan, and his Garozzos Saturday evening friends, Katie, Sam, Kate, and Chris. Anyone we did not call by name and we have missed please forgive us, so many claimed Dennis as their best friend and know he thought that of you, too.
Bobo loved hard, he had no regrets, never had a bad day, was happy, sincere, faithful, generous and above all else, kind. May we all live by his example and try as he did to help make this world a better place. We loved him and will miss him forever.
