It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Whitty, a man whose journey through life was filled with love, friendship, and a passion for handiness and engineering. Dennis departed this world on July 12, 2023.
Born on October 9, 1947, Dennis’s life was marked by a commitment to his friends and family and an insatiable curiosity for the world around him. He was a loving partner, having enjoyed a fulfilling marriage with his beloved wife, Ann, for 37 years. Their union was a beacon of warmth and mutual support.
Throughout his life, Dennis nurtured a love for exploration and travel. He roamed far and wide with Ann. They made many memories during their adventures together. Dennis enjoyed meeting and talking to all sorts of people and immersing himself in the cultures of different lands.
Professionally, Dennis was an accomplished electrical engineer. His keen mind and passion for science and engineering led him to work on many passion projects outside of work as well. Dennis enjoyed programming, robotics, and inventing in his free time. He was also very handy and completed many home projects. For many years, Dennis volunteered with the elderly and helped them complete projects they could no longer do themselves.
Dennis's outgoing and friendly nature endeared him to many. He possessed a natural ability to strike up conversations and make friends wherever he went. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his warmth, humor, and genuine interest in connecting with others.
Dennis leaves behind a profound impact on his two loving sons, Mike and Paul Whitty, sister Debbie, daughter-in-law Cassie, many nieces and nephews and the countless friends and acquaintances he touched along the way. Dennis was delighted to learn that he was going to become a grandparent to his soon-to-be born grandson, Wesson. While he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever be alive in the memories and stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Dennis not only for his intellect and accomplishments but also for his tender heart and the love he showed his family and friends. In honoring his memory, let us find solace in the knowledge that he is finally free from the burdens that weighed upon his soul.
Rest in peace, dear Dennis. May you find eternal peace in the embrace of the cosmos you so passionately sought to understand.
