Donald was born on August 4, 1944 in Wichita, KS to Percy and Lucille Scarbrough. He graduated from Grandview High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1972 where he reached the rank of Captain. He was in the 82nd Airborne and earned the Bronze Star. He married Aracelis “Chely” Aviles in Hanau, Germany in 1972. Donald then went to work for the Department of Public Works for the City of Kansas City, MO. In 1977 he went to work for Toyota Forklift and Toyota Motor Sales. He retired from there in 2010.
Donald was active with the Boy Scouts of America serving as a Webelos Leader, Scoutmaster and Merit Badge Instructor. He was a member in the Order of the Arrow and was an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also volunteered at the St. Francis Xavier Food Pantry.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Aracelis, his three children Brian (Jamie) Scarbrough, Brigid Scarbrough and Brent Scarbrough and a brother John Scarbrough. He also leaves behind five grandchildren to cherish his memory.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 29 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
