Donald Ray Shields

Don was born December 2, 1947 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Roscoe and Mildred Shields.

Throughout the years, Don enjoyed the outdoors. Don enjoyed hunting/fishing with his family and friends. Don is a retired auto mechanic. He worked for Ken/Paul West Amoco and retired from Firestone. Don also enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals games. Most of all, Don enjoyed spending time his family and friends. Especially, his grandchildren and his good friend and neighbor of 30 years, Wally Shelton.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Shields. Daughters Dawn Shields, Michelle (Jason) Jones. Sister Mary Lou Jackson. 4 grandchildren Hanna Waid, Hunter Waid, Jett Jones and Journey Jones. Sister in laws Mary (Al) Serrano and Judy Lopez. Many nieces and nephews. As well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe and Mildred Shields. Siblings Anna Mings, James Shields, Wanda Lyons, Charles Shields, Willie Shields, William Shields and Carolyn Harness.

Services will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home on July 20, 2019. 10:00am - 12:00pm, 10507 Holmes Road. Kansas City, Missouri 64131
