

Donna Pascoe Pohl, 78, passed away on March 3, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Englewood, CO following a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 AM at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Donna was born December 31, 1946, in Kirksville, MO and subsequently moved to Nevada, MO in 1950. Donna attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Nevada High School in 1964. During these years she was elected homecoming queen, was very involved in horseback riding, barrel racing, tennis, golf and participated in the American Royal Parade in Kansas City, MO riding Taffy, the Palomino horse she shared with her sisters. She attended the University of Missouri and was an active member of the Alpha Mu chapter of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was president of the Alpha Mu Facility Corporation Board, served on it for several years, and was responsible for the installation of a fire suppression system in the sorority house. She was also active in the Greater KC Alumnae Chapter for Kappa Alpha Theta.
Donna and her husband were married in Nevada, MO on December 21, 1967 and continued to live in Colombia, MO until they moved to El Paso, TX during his service years in the Army when he was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. During these years she taught elementary school on the base. Donna and Bob then moved to Kansas City, MO where he attended law school and she managed apartments for a Kansas City real estate developer. While in Kansas City, she was a member of the Junior League and served on a committee which researched and compiled a cookbook entitled “Beyond Parsley”, which included recipes submitted by Junior League members and tested by the committee. Starting in 1974, Donna and Bob made frequent trips to Vail, CO where she became an avid snow skier and developed many friends in the Vail community. In 1982, Donna accepted the position of Headmaster’s Assistant at The Barstow School and served in that position until her retirement in 1999.
Donna was predeceased by her parents Dr. James J. Pascoe and Gloria J. Pascoe, her sister Suzie Pettus and Suzie’s husband, Bill Pettus. Survivors include her husband of 57 years Bob Pohl, her son Bob Pohl and Kris Pohl of Denver, CO; her son Tom Pohl and Lori Pohl of Eagle, CO; her sister Sydney Hosking and Mark Hosking of St. Augustine FL; her brother Jim Pascoe and Margo Farnsworth of Smithville, MO; her sister Becky Gragg and Phil Gragg of Nevada, MO; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her uncle Ray Pascoe, who recently celebrated his 101st birthday, and Louise Pascoe of Mabank, TX, as well as her aunt Pat Chapman of Springfield, MO and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations be made to either The Barstow School or to the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
