

Doris Sorrels Kramer was born on August 18, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, the only child of Oscar and Nell (O’Connor) Sorrels. She graduated from Central High School in 1952 and later married her childhood friend, James F. Kramer.
Doris worked for United Missouri Bank for 44 years, retiring in 1955. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed genealogy, tracing her family history back to 1646 in the Jamestown and Isle of Wight, Virginia areas.
A passionate traveler, she visited 48 states and 14 countries. Doris was also a skilled seamstress, needle pointer, and knitter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. After James’s passing, she moved to St. Louis to be closer to family. Doris is survived by cousin Margaret Ann Shepard, nephews of the Radford family (John, Jason, and Jeremy), nieces Ellen Bretz, Joyce Chartrand, Betty Rizos, and Charlotte Tippy, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held at Curé of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, Kansas, on November 17, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 10:40 am, with a Rosary being prayed at 10:40 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am. Doris will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Missouri, immediately following Mass.
