

Dorothy Louise Weir Bradshaw, 85, of the Village of Loch Lloyd, MO, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home early Tuesday, February 19th. Dorothy was born August 23, 1927 to Mary Phadelia Weir and Oscar Elcar Weir in Houstonia, MO. She attended Martin City schools and graduated from Ruhl Hartman High School. She graduated from Central Missouri State University. After graduation she taught physical education at Central High School in St. Joseph, MO.
In 1951, she married William “Bill” Bradshaw of Warrensburg and after his graduation from KU Medical School they settled in Clinton, MO. Dorothy was an avid gardener, golfer and superior partner in all of their activities together- politics, flying, travel and above all, raising their 2 daughters. After 22 years in Clinton, they relocated to Columbia, MO where Dorothy returned to coaching and enjoyed travel with the University of Missouri women’s golf team, dabbling in the antiques business and continued golf and tennis.
After Bill’s retirement from the university, they returned to Kansas City where Dorothy served as a docent for the Nelson-Atkins Museum. She enjoyed monthly book club and luncheons with her Delta college friends. She remained a loyal Royals fan all her life.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William, her parents, Mary and Oscar Weir, her brothers, Don and Bob Weir. She leaves behind her daughters, Deborah Bradshaw Tighe and Kevin Tighe of Worthington, OH and Jane Bradshaw of Loch Lloyd, MO. Granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth Webb and Alex Webb of Overland Park, KS. Ashley Katherine Brittingham and Brant Brittingham of Rosehill, KS and Rachel Marie Grindle and Tim Grindle of Overland Park, KS and 6 great grandchildren.
