Dorothy was born on December 22, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Birney and Lucille Terrell. She graduated from Southwest High School, Kansas City, MO and William Woods College, Fulton, MO. Dorothy resided in Prairie Village, KS for 50 years where she was a beloved wife and mother. She volunteered for over 20 years at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in the Gift Shop, she also volunteered for the Carlsen Center at JCCC and the Theatre League. She was an active member of PEO. After Al’s retirement, they enjoyed travelling and exploring many parts of the world.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert Karsten; son Rick (Tammy) Karsten, daughter LuAnn (Mark) Pearson, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and sister-in-law Mrs. Wren Karsten.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 1, 2017, with visitation beginning at 10:30am at Heritage Activity Center, Lakeview Village, 9100 Park, Lenexa, KS. Private burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
