Dorothy J. Wormington

Dorothy Julia (Schiska) Wormington passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 84. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 31st, 10:00 a.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel.

Dorothy was born October 24, 1928 in Pierce City, Missouri. She was married to Paul N. Wormington on April 14, 1948. She and her husband owned and operated a donut shop in the Northland for many years before retiring to Florida. They enjoyed working together on craft projects, he doing woodworking while she painted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Lucille Banks, and her brother, Joseph Schiska, Jr.

Survivors include four sons: Terry (Marsha) Wormington of Satellite Beach, Florida, Denis (Barbara) Wormington of Overland Park, Kansas, Duane (Linda) Wormington of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bruce (Robin) Wormington of Parkville, Missouri; her sister, Mary Ann (Glenn) Rhoads of Joplin, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Andrew (Amy) Wormington, James (Jenny) Wormington, Melissa Forester, Tracy (Matt) Hamilton, John (Erica) Wormington, Michelle (Jeremy) Stewart, Steven Wormington, Laura (Dustin) Dixon and Alec Wormington; nine great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
