Doug was born on November 12th, 1958 in Grandview, Missouri to Dave and Betty Nellor and grew up in the Jackson County Area. He graduated from Grandview High School, as well as Joe Herndon Technical School for Diesel Mechanics. Doug grew up farming with his dad. In high school he started working in construction and driving semis. He drove semis for thirty years and drove for McCorkendales for twenty-five years. He was a part of the Cleveland Planning and Zoning Board for twenty four years. He was then a self-employed construction contractor for the last twenty years,
Doug was preceded in death by both of his parents Dave and Betty Nellor. Doug is survived by his wife Roxanne Nellor of twenty-five years and his daughter Sydney Nellor, who he was very proud of, his mother-in-law Joan Rogers, sister-in-law Rhonda Rogers Hoyt and her husband Todd Hoyt, brother-in-law Mitchell Rogers and his wife Alicia Rogers and brother-in-law Matthew Rogers and his wife Kaylyn Rogers.
