to Joseph and Conjetta (Coletta) DeStefano. She married the love of her life, Carl M. Scavuzzo on April 19, 1960 and celebrated 50 beautiful years of marriage. Edie loved sharing in the joys of their four children and six grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren. Edie’s life centered around her family and her faith which were both ever present in her daily activities. She enjoyed singing in the St. Thomas More parish choir, volunteering for the Ladies of Charity, Seton Center, and the Little Sisters of the Poor and a member of the Cure of Ars team 19 CHRP. She was an avid tennis player and a lover of the visual and performing arts and especially the symphony where Carl and she would regularly attend performances. She was a constant best fan in the stand for all of her children and grandchildren’s life-time events. She had many friends she shared travel, tennis, and the sounds of the symphony.
Edie loved dancing, singing, and especially preparing a table for a meal where cousins or family friends would come and others would just stop in; as there was always a seat at the table she prepared with the hopes that more were coming.
Edie was a graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City and went on to work for TWA, raised her four children and began a second career as a Kansas City Area Residential Realtor for more than twenty years.
