A lot of memories from the old neighborhood, from the gathering to listen to the baseball games, or even your mother babysitting my brother and I before school. Best memory I remember was your mother taking a old tshirt of your Dad,s putting it on us as she would pull us by are feet to clean the floor, and yet I would pick gooseberries and she would bake me a pie!!! Mmm!!! And a lot of other thing as I grew up knowing your Mother and Father. They will be missed greatly.Our prayers and thoughts are with you both and your familys.

What I remember about Gigi is the time there was a tornado warning at my house and Gigi said she prayed for me. That was so nice. I wish she could do more like that, but now she’s in heaven. Love you Gigi!

I could not have chosen a better mother in law, even if I had all the choices in the world. She was loving, supportive,godly, always happy, adventurous, and some what ornery!
    My first fond memory of her was the first time I met her ,at their home . She was cooking spaghetti and mentioned that she was not sure it was done yet. I volunteered that I knew how to tell if it was done, and took a piece and threw it up to the ceiling , where it stuck. I declared it was done. I immediately knew I may have blown any chance of being considered responsible by her, so I was very worried! But she thought that was so funny, and immediately made me feel relaxed.  (Richard was in the hospital at the time and later realized if he had been there, Barb and I may never had been allowed to date, much less get married ! Lucky Brandon, Travis,, Ambry, and Adam …..and ME ! )
     She truly cared and loved our whole family and was instrumental and giving guidance  and love to Barb and I, and our children, in good times, and difficult times .
      I hope I can take just a little bit of her with me, to make me a better person. She will not be forgotten, and will be loved forever!

      This is a sad,difficult time for all of you. Hold on to all those precious memory of your loved one in your heart…….a special gift from God. HE always sends sunshine along with the rain. 
      Jane always carried a sweet smile and was so loved especially by all the little ones.
      I envied all the beautiful quilts she made. We always felt so welcome in their lovely home and enjoyed some trips together. 
     We believe she has been welcomed in a Heaven by Richard and maybe even Charles. 


My Gigi was one of the sweetest lady’s I ever knew. I love how she cared for everyone so much. One thing I will always remember about her was that she always gave the best hugs. 

I don't even know where to start.   First of all, she wasn't  Jane to me, she was always and will always be  Mom and, she had my love and respect befitting that title!
I have always loved her zest for life and her adventurous spirit. 
I remember a time  not many years after Claudia and I were married.   I decided to take mom for a snowmobile ride and she was more than game to go so, off we went  "riding the ditches."  We were going along at a pretty good speed and we hit a bump that was hidden under the snow.  The sled went airborne and when it came back down I realized that mom wasn't sitting behind me anymore.   I turned around and looked and there she was laying in  knee deep snow.  I had thrown her off so hard that she had flown about 15 feet Uphill.
All I could think was "Oh Lord, I've killed my mother in law!"
In a flash she was on her feet, laughing like a kid and, I knew  then that we would forever have a special bond.
She loved and was loved by everyone who knew her and I'd like to think that she taught me much about how to be a better parent and,  a better person. 
Rest easy mom.  I'll do my best to take care of those you loved here and, when we meet again,  maybe we can finish that snowmobile ride!


My Gigi was a very beautiful person inside and out. She was what most would describe as warm and always happy. She would always greet everyone with a smile and a tight hug. I remember how she would always kind of come up with smart little comments that would throw everyone a little off but ultimately we’d all end up laughing. Talking about boys was never an issue. When being worried about getting a gift for my boyfriend she’d say, “well you could always break up with him around christmas and then get back together 😉”. I always thought of her as someone who despite her age, was always living her life to its fullest potential. She loved spending time with her family and had many others who adored her as well. She told  plentiful stories of her and Great Grandpa and you could almost hear the peace in her voice of knowing she’d be able to reunite with him again. She once taught me how to sew a quilt when I was younger, in which everyone who knew her knew that it was her thing. We spent hours creating something so small but it was one of the first times we really bonded, and I will never forget how excited I was to think that maybe one day I could create something as beautiful as her work. She taught me like many of us how to find light in everything. To show grace and kindness towards anyone and in any situation. There was always something about her that told you how full of a life she lived. This is something I will always carry with me, and hope that one day I can too say the same about myself.

I will always remember playing uno attack with Grammie everytime I got to go down and see her. She would never pass it up when we asked her to play. I’ll also never forget how great of stories she had to tell  and how happy she was to share them with us. I miss Grammie and I know she’s in a better place with Grandpa.

My GiGi came to visit me a lot with my MiMi and Papa. She played Uno with us. She laughed a lot. I love her and I’m going to miss her. 

It’s still hard to believe she’s gone!  I can’t express how much I miss her and how much I love her.  She was the best mom, wife, mother-in-law, grandma, grammie and Gigi anyone could have.  Mom never knew a stranger and was touched and loved by everyone who she crossed paths with!
Growing up, she was the fun Mom!  I remember playing in the snow with her, being rescued from having to eat liver and mowing the yard and honking the car horn at boys for me and my friends 😊  She was on bowling leagues and even joined one with me and my friends.  There were “girl” weekends (with my friends),  she was always up for anything!!
I enjoyed scrapbooking with her and helped with some quilting•••which I hope to continue to learn how to do.
I can only hope to be as good a mom and grandma as she was and love unconditionally!!   Until we meet again Mom, I love you ❤️❤️❤️

The memories I have with my grandma are countless. A few of my favorites are sitting on the piano bench with her as she played baby face and we would sing. I would ask her to play it over and over again. I also loved listening to her tell stories about when she was a kid and as I got older, stories from when I was a kid. Especially the one where she told me not to jump across the puddle and I did it anyway. You can guess the ending…It didn’t matter how many times I had heard the stories, I loved to hear her tell them again. As far back as I can remember when we went to a store she would strike up a conversation with the clerk. It went something like this…” This is my granddaughter Lisa. She’s from Minnesota. She’s staying with me for the week.” She said it with the biggest smile and I would be so embarrassed. As the years went on I began to just expect it and I even started to like it.  Even in her last days as the nurses came in her room while we were on FaceTime, she would say those same words, adding that I was a also a nurse. I realized that my smile was just as big as hers because I was just as proud of her as she was of me! 

As a kid I knew my grandma was sweet and I had fun being with her. But, the older I got the more I realized just how special  she really was. Her smile was beautiful and her laugh contagious. She made anyone she met feel special and at ease. She was welcoming and kind.  She was trustworthy and honest. She loved her family so much and so unconditionally! If you knew her, you knew that. I told my grandma everything; my troubles, my secrets, exciting news and everything in between. I would tell her she was “my person”.  I’m really going to miss picking up the phone and hearing her on the other end. My heart hurts but, I am at peace knowing how glorious her days are in heaven, pain free running with grandpa.

Families are made up of many different people, some blood and some you collect along the way in this journey called life!   We met Jane through our daughter-in-law, Ambry.   Jane always made us feel like family… her smile would light up the room and her kindness would make you feel welcomed!  And although our times together were few, she made a difference in our lives!  Thankful for having met her!  John & Sandy Lang


Whenever we got an opportunity to see Jane, it was a treat ! Jane had a warm, sweet, kind, positive, fun-loving, gentle, and loving personality that made it a joy just to get to see her and visit.  She exuded a full range of beauty in her smile and loving heart.  Her legacy of goodness and love will continue to shine through her daughters and grandchildren and into future generations.  Heaven is sweeter with her presence.  So sad for your loss, sending prayers.

Loss is never easy especially loss of a loved one. But for me every time luck finds me while playing cards I will get to have the memory of Grandma Jane with me even if it’s just for a moment. And that, for me, lessens the sting of loss of a loved one.  So cherish your memories and keep Grandma Jane’s memory alive.

Grandma Jane was truly one of a kind. She was always such a joy to be around, one of the easiest people to get along with. I always loved when she came to Minnesota to visit. One summer in particular she spent some time at my dad and Lisa's place on Leech Lake in Walker. The weather wasn't the nicest, and a few of us decided to check out the casino in town, Grandma Jane included. She and I were walking around, and she told me try and find a slot machine with cherries. She said that she liked cherries. It wasn't long after I came across a slot machine with cherries and pointed it out. She B lined over to it, I could barely keep up. She put her money in and on the first pull that slot machine was making all kinds of noises. I don't remember how much she won. All I remember is that it was enough to make her smile ear to ear.     

When I here this name Gigi. I will always remember the sweetest Grandma/Great Grandma to my daughter-in-law Ambry and Grandaughters Bryley and Tenley.
She was so kind, and had such a special relationship with them, so close and warm. I will always be thankful to have met her and look forward to hearing about all the memories she left in there hearts.

Oh sweet Grandma how you will be missed!! I have never met a sweeter soul! I will cherish the memories I have with you when you would come to visit Dave and Ambry!  I was blessed to live next door to them for a few years and got to see you more than I would have gotten to otherwise!  As I sit here reading all the memories posted before mine I am filled with tears.  Such a true testimony of the amazing person that you were!  Thank you for giving me such an amazing example of who I want to be! You grandma were one of a kind and I am blessed to have known you! Until we meet again!! Have fun up there! You are surely loved and missed down here!

I was blessed to meet Jane.  She was so welcoming and her smile could light up the room.  I could see how much she loved her family and how loved she was.  Even though I only got the pleasure of meeting her a few times, she definitely left a huge impression on me.  I'm enjoying hearing Brandon's stories about his grandmother. 


Jane was such a special woman. I remember when we first met her when she came to Minnesota. I called my mom after to say how cute she was and that her smile lit up a room. She was always so kind and welcoming. She was so sweet to our girls, too. We’ll always remember how she took such genuine time to get to know us and remembered so much of our lives. I can only imagine how big her smile was when she got to the beautiful gates of Heaven! She is certainly smiling down with her infectious smile now, brining comfort to all her family and friends.

When I met grandma it was obvious her love of family was profound and sincere. She loved you all very much and was in a very happy place with you all by her side. She accepted me and my entire family as her own. Grandma was a genuinely kind person, living a faith you could see on her face and in her heart. She could strike up a conversation with anybody…and often did! Grandma had a passion for life and all it brought her, good or bad she dealt with it head on. Always with a smile on her face. My fondest memories are without a doubt from our recent trip to Europe. Good bye for now. 

I always loved driving down to Missouri to see grammie. She always knew how to cheer me up and put a smile on my face. I am going to miss all the fun times we had and all the happy memories you left for me. I love you and miss you grammie.

Grandma Jane was like another grandmother to me. My dad is uncle Scott’s brother, Nick. Jane watched my siblings & I grow up. She watched my own kids grow a little too. I always enjoyed Jane’s company when we had family get togethers. I know my Grandma Maysent did too! Her personality was larger than life & very contagious. She always enjoyed being with family & every time I saw her, she had a smile on her face. She was the sweetest & always had an infectious, caring heart. She was probably the sweetest person I have ever met in my life. She was so welcoming & treated us as family.The picture I am sharing is a picture of my youngest baby, Sebastian (Bash) with Grandma Jane. I remember this day clearly. She had a love for babies like no other & wanted to hold him at Aunt Barb’s birthday party. He stuck his tongue out at her & so she was mimicking what he was doing & did it back. She had a silly side to her & I loved that.  Thank you Grandma Jane for loving us & sharing your heart with us. You were the best person & I am going to miss you.

My great grandma was a great person. No matter what she was always happy and could put a smile on anyone’s face. Although I lived far away from her she always did her best to keep in touch with me. She was very caring. I remember that anytime I would come up to Kansas City to see her and the rest of my family she would greet me with a smile and ask me how I have been. She always checked up on me and made sure that my school work and sports were going well. Great Grandma, Grammie, was so loving and makes our family whole. 

Mom Jane. Growing up with Jane, Richard, Claudia and Barb provided wonderful memories of love, support, fun and joy. I was probably eight or nine before I realized that the Jaques family were not blood relatives but relatives of the heart. Christmas Day always included trips to each other’s homes. Birthdays were always celebrated together. It broke my Mama’s heart when Richard and Jane moved from the old neighborhood. But Mom was so happy for Jane’s new home. We girls were all grown and making our own ways by then, but there is still a wonderful connection to the Jaques family.  I wish you comfort in the loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend but I also wish you joy as you celebrate your memories of her in our lives. 

I don't think will ever forget how welcoming Grandma Jane was when I first started coming around the family.  She was always eager to chat with me and genuinely interested in getting to know me. Always the biggest sweetheart. I feel blessed to have known her and had such a role model. She is so loved and will be missed!

I remember when I had no front teeth and GiGi’s front teeth were gone, too. We took our picture together and laughed. She gave the best hugs. I miss my GiGi.

Grandma was a beautiful spirit who enjoyed her life and loved her family deeply. She was outgoing, fun, happy, optimistic, personable, and never seemed to have a bad day. She had many friends and was one of the most likable, loveable people I've known.

We had many fun times together that I will cherish forever. I used to love visiting her at her home in Raymore and she was such a joy to be around. Her cookie jar was always full and she made the best oatmeal raisin cookies in the world. Some of my favorite memories with her include playing in her garden, learning how to sew, sitting on her lap at the piano, spending holidays together, watching the Raymore fireworks display from her driveway, playing cards, sitting in the pew with her at church, and especially fishing. We traveled to many places like Roaring River, Woman Lake in Minnesota, Sister Creek Resort on Bull Shoals in Arkansas, Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock Lake and Truman Lake. Many times, Grandma, Grandpa, and I competed for the first, the most and the biggest fish. Grandma usually won; she had a special touch about her and as Grandpa would say, she always held her mouth right. I am blessed to be able to carry this tradition on today with my own family, and in the same boat from these memories. I’ll never forget these experiences; they’ve cultivated the love for fishing that I still have today. 

Although it has been hard realizing that Grandma is no longer physically with us on Earth, I know that she is shining bright in heaven with Grandpa now. I imagine her and Grandpa laughing together in pure happiness as they watch down over us. I miss her but am thankful that God put her in my, and my family’s lives. She was a great example of how one should live their lives and is the epitome of the perfect Grandma. I love you Grandma!


As I read other's memories of Mom, it's hard to know what to say that hasn't already been said. She was truly one of a kind. The only difference is that I was blessed to call her Mom.
She was patient, caring and showed our entire family the meaning of unconditional love.
As I grew up and moved away from home, our visits became more special.  We both have a love for shopping, especially for shoes and purses, and I think mom's closet still shows every shopping trip we ever took. 
This past September,  I was able to take the trip of a lifetime with Mom. While our trip had been cancelled last year, we had hopes to make it this year, however, with mom's many health issues, I saw no way she was going to be able to go.  However by the grace of God and mom's determination  and a little help from her granddaughter,  she was able to go and enjoy what she called "her last hurrah"! And that it was! So grateful for those memories.
While I will love and miss my mom forever, I will hold those memories in my heart. More importantly, when I look at my daughter, Lisa, I see Mom in her.  She has mom's compassion for others, that never-ending positive attitude, love of life and the smile that lights up a room. Thank you Mom, for giving her that part of you.  Love you.

Mom, Grandma, Grammie or GiGi, she was loved in every role.  I was fortunate and blessed to have her fill her notable and lovable role as ‘Grandma.’ Yet, not my grandma by blood, she always will be by soul and spirit.  It was 18 years ago that I first met Grandma Jane.  Nerves were pumping intensely as Adam had described her as the most “Caring and loving Grandma a human being could ever have.” or something to that effect.  Either way, I was anxious to meet such a highly spoken of woman.  In an instant upon seeing her beaming smile, I fell in love with her and it became evident why everyone else did too. After our first few encounters it didn’t take me long to start calling her ‘Grandma’.  She told me it just "tickled” her to hear that.  And the fact that it tickled her, tickled me. It was the first time I felt acceptance from a family.  Her love was so strong and effortlessly felt.  Perhaps her more memorable feature, but yet fitting was her smile.  A smile that was impossible not to smile back to.  It was through this contagious smile, that Grandma’s true spirit and love radiated.  This beautiful woman possessed a pure and true love for her family.  I have sat back and watched this saint soak in the exuberance of just being surrounded by them.  She never smiles brighter than when she was with her family.  Her love was so BIG and she had so much to share! I want to say ‘Thank you,' to Grandma Jane for loving me as your own.  Thank you for showing me what true love is by leading the example.  Thank you for sharing your remarkable spirit with me!  But most of all, Thank you for creating a family so pure, powerful and true.          


Loving. Caring. Kind. Loveable. Fun. Patient. Compassionate. These are just a few words that describe Grandma. She had all the characteristics that many aspire to have over their lifetime. I married into the family, but felt her love the moment we met.  I always enjoyed spending time with Jane - she was a wonderful storyteller. She truly had a gift of making everybody in her presence feel loved. I will miss her smile, her laugh, her hugs and her love. Until we meet again...

There is no question that my grandma was an amazing person.  Ask anyone that ever met her even once.  Her smile was radiant, her laugh infectious, and as my cousin Ambry said...her love was fierce.  I have so many wonderful memories going to the water slides in Texas, hunting for sea shells in Galveston beach, or our trips to resorts in northern MN.  Traveling to Grandma's house for Christmas was such a treat and provided some of my best childhood memories.  I was always a little jealous of my cousins that lived by her and got to see her more often.  I know there are many other people that consider my grandma their's and that is a testament to who she was.  She had plenty of love to go around, that's for sure.  As the oldest grandchild I feel proud to be the one that put the "Grandma" in Grandma Jane!!  I love you so much Grandma, it hurts!  Give grandpa a squeeze for me, tell him the walleye are biting, and rest easy.

I always loved how excited grammie got to go to Dairy Queen. Most times it seemed like she was more excited to go than the kids when we visited. It always made me happy to see her so excited. I am really going to miss her. 

We are missing Grandma Jane along with you all. She was such a sweet lady, and I will never forget her genuine smile. What a blessing to have known her. Praying for comfort and peace to you all.

Beginning back in March 2019, Jane, and I began to text back and forth on a fairly regular basis; not every day, but frequently. One subject we seemed to touch on was during the Chiefs’ games we would text back and forth about the game in progress. After a touchdown, this past game, I found myself picking up the cellphone, then realizing she won’t answer. Sad, knowing we can no longer talk about our families, trips taken, our Mom and Dad, go out for lunch, or anything else.

Grandma is truly one of the best! She picked up on my sarcasm from the first time I met her. She gave me just as much crap as I would give her. There was never a dull moment. Her personality would brighten any room. She was so proud of everything Ambry and I have accomplished, and always let us know how much we were loved. I am so fortunate I was able to know her the last 14 years. Her big smile and sweet voice are something our girls Bryley and Tenley will never forget. She will forever be one of their role models. We love you Gigi! Tell Gramps I said hi!

For as long as I can remember, it has been a tradition to go to Dairy Queen every time we went to visit Grammie or she came to visit us. The past couple of years have been the best because now that I had my license, Grammie and I were able to go to Dairy Queen multiple times. I will never forget our last time going there when I punched in the closest location and it took us to an unsafe neighborhood that we did not know about. Our family was not very pleased when we got home and told them what city we went to but Grammie and I just laughed about our fun adventure. I will never forget our Dairy Queen trips together and the beautiful person that my Grammie was.

I grew up with Claudia and Barbara in raytown calling jane mom number 2. But all these years later I never knew  her first name was Edna. A great lady that will be missed a lot. Mom and dad, jane and Richard are in heaven playing cards again. 

Mrs. Jaques was the "young mom"   So pretty and vivacious, lots of fun.   Always enjoyed after school fun and snacks with Claudia and Cindy Opal after a long day at Northwood at your house.

Jane was without a doubt one of the sweetest and kindest people we have ever known.  Whenever we visited she always greeted us with her warm smile and a big hug.  She treated us like family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but she left us with so many happy memories and those memories will remain in our hearts forever.

We are so blessed that Mylen was able to meet her great-grandma before she was called home. I can’t wait for Mylen to hear all the wonderful stories and see all of the photos once she’s older.

This is how I choose to remember Grandma Jane. This is a picture of myself, my mom, Mama Barb, and Grandma at Cracker Barrel.  This was a great day. On this day, I told Grandma Jane that I was pregnant. I was so worried what everyone would think. Luckily, the only thing she was mad about was not finding out sooner! Ha! She was always SO generous, understanding, easy to talk to, and willing to give second chances. She was a woman of great faith, full of love. I am so heartbroken my Grandma-in-love is not here with me to talk to me about womanhood.. or what is means to be a patient wife and mother. We were supposed to watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate together,  but God had other plans. What a wonderful Christmas she had in Heaven with all of her loved ones. I’ve only ever had 1 grandparent, who lives 800+ miles away, so Mrs. Jane always felt like the missing piece to my puzzle. We love her, we miss her, and we are eternally grateful to have known her and to have been in her presence. Until we meet again.

The youth group raked leaves at Jane’s house as part of a mission trip fundraiser. She was so sweet and brought out hot cocoa for us all. I will always remember her smile and generous spirit.

Jane was like another Grandma to me. I remember going to Maysent family events and her being there like she was part of the family. She was always such a sweet lady and always was very kind to everyone who got to know her. She will be missed very much! 

She was one of the sweetest persons I had the privilege of knowing. I’m sure you are missing her. Let your memories fill your hearts.

My Grandma was the best person I knew. She was the most loving and caring Grandma anyone could ever have. She was always there for me in the good times and the not so good times. I wish I had more time with her but God was calling her home. The last time I got to spend one on one time with her she told me how much she loved me and Evan, how blessed she was to have the family she has and that she missed my Grandpa Richard dearly. I know that they are in Heaven together now and that I will see them again one day. I will always love you and miss you Grandma ❤️

Although Jane was not biologically my grandma, my siblings and I always had the luxury of calling her "Grandma Jane." She always spoke so kind and gentle and was truly caring. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to spend many family get-togethers with her for the past 31 years. One of my favorite memories is us always joking that my mom named me after her because my middle name is Jane as well. Jane’s kindness, generosity and caring nature was contagious, and her memory will live on forever. We are thinking of you all and sending all of our love. 


I loved Grandma Jane from the first moment I met her. Such a warm, caring, smiling, wonderful women. Even better was that she loved cards and was competitive, a perfect fit for me. Thank you Grandma Jane for bringing so much joy to the world! Love, Katie (sister-in-law to Lisa)

My grandma was the absolute sweetest human being I have ever met. Everywhere she went she made friends, and she was fiercely adored. Her smile was warm and comforting. Her laugh was so joyous and lovable. Some of my earliest memories are with her: spending the night and waking up to the smell of coffee, Christmas mornings with the entire family at her home,  teaching me how to sew (not that my skills would ever compare to her’s), and watching the Raymore fireworks display on her driveway for many years. Back in 2001, my grandpa and her were on a cross country road trip hauling their RV when they got word that I was in a tragic car accident— they didn’t hesitate. They drove straight back home through the night to be by my side at the hospital.  My grandma was at every celebration- birthdays, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, graduations, weddings, birth of grandchildren, etc. Just her being there made our family gatherings complete. It’s hard to lose a grandparent, but this is a devastation. She was the matriarch of our family, the glue that held us together, and the light in our darkest times. The love that she had for her family is something that I will never forget. Moments before she closed her eyes for the last time I told her “I selfishly want to keep you here with me, but I know you’re ready to go. Please give grandpa a hug and kiss for me.” I would like to think that’s where she’s at right now— in the loving arms of my grandpa. Until I see you again grandma Jane… I will love you and miss you. 

Jane was a lovely person. We had a great time on our trip to  Arnold’s greenhouse and selecting plants. 
After I married John,  Jane became a very supportive friend and neighbor. She was a blessing.
