Edward Chun, 80, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at St. Joseph Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 23rd, 2:30 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. Cremation.
Edward was born July 27, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He moved to China and was raised there. He married Nancy in Hong Kong in 1951. Edward moved back to the U.S. and eventually moved back to Kansas City, MO. Edward was a very hard worker. He owned and operated a local family Chinese Restaurant for many years. He was an excellent cook. In 1964, he appeared on the Betty Hays Show. When he wasn’t sharing advice and telling life stories to his friends and family, you could find him watching old westerns or reading the Wall Street Journal.
Edward was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Joe, and Frank; his sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife Nancy; brother, Wallace; sister, Evelyn; sons, Newton and John; daughters, Rita and Judy; six grandchildren; Jazzmin, Joseph, Joshua, Jade, Jeffrey and Christian; three great-grandchildren.
