

Edward “Ed” Weir, 62, Liberty, MO passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 27, 2015, surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St James Catholic Church, 309 S Stewart Road, Liberty. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled on Tuesday March 3 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at St James Catholic Church.
Ed was born Oct 19, 1952 to Donald and Conchita Weir in Clay Center. The family moved to the Kansas City area, from San Antonio, in the 1960s. On March 18, 1972, Ed married the love of his life, Midge Cutolo. He worked in Customer Service at UPS, then began an extended career as a home builder in Clay County. He was active in Boy Scouts, Marriage Encounter, That Man is You, Knights of Columbus, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life and served in numerous capacities at St James Catholic Church: Parrish Council, Welcoming Committee, Lector, Soup Kitchen and the Building Committee.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Midge; children John (Carey) Weir, Jennifer (Chris) Bethel, Amy (Michael) Saye, Sarah (Joe) Morris and 15 grandchildren. Additional survivors include his grandmother, Hazel Weir; his father Donald Weir and mother Conchita Ros Weir; siblings Barbara Jackson, Robert Weir, Judy Saft, Ruth Weir-Rizer and Mary Weir; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St James Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
