I just thought about my friend Ed and Midge and happened to look them up on Google.  I'm so sorry to hear that Ed is gone.  We worked at United Parcel Service together as Customer service Representatives and he later became my manager in sales at UPS. He was a very good person and kind and gentle. I will miss him forever.   May God continue to watch over the family.

Midge, I'm carrying you and the family around in my heart, praying for your comfort.  When I think of Ed, I picture his warm smile.  He genuinely cared about all of us younger cousins and always made me feel welcome.  What a huge heart!  He really did make this corner of the world a better place.  The two of you being happy together always made me happy.  You come in a very close second to my mom and dad for Cutest Couple Ever.  I love you and am storing up huge hugs for you next time I'm home.

We were so so sorry to hear about Mr. Weir. The children at St. James always loved having him in the classroom. Our son would come home and tell us all about him and how much they enjoyed him. May he rest in peace. We will keep all of the Weir family in our prayers. God bless you all.

I so wish I could have been with you today to celebrate Ed's life.  I'm sure that the service was, in fact, a celebration, despite the sorrow, not only because of your great faith, but also because there really is no other way to describe Ed's life except as a celebration.  Over the years we have been amazed and touched by his love and devotion to family, his grit and sense of humor, and his steely determination to live life.  I still remember the first time my cool cousin, Midgie, brought some big tall boy over to the house and how even then it was so clear they were in love.

I have such fond memories of you and "Eddie" when I as on the faculty at St. Pius X and as associate pastor at St. Patrick's.  We could see then that you would be sweethearts for the rest of your lives.  You and Ed have truly lived lives for others.  Your works of mercy for so many others will never be forgotten.You are truly a credit to the alumni of St. Pius X.  I know the sorrow of your wonderful family is great. The love I always saw between Ed & Midge was amazing. You could always tell they were inseparable. Even though Ed has left this world to be with God I know his spirit will alway be at Midge's side and their love will forever live on. He was such a wonderful man and they were an amazing couple. I never had the pleasure of meeting Ed but would see him in the St James community with Midge and always felt a sense of sincere kindness and love from their family.  My heart was heavy when I heard....I had been keeping Ed in my prayers. Oh how we will miss this dear friend and wonderful man! We will always cherish so many memories of the warm atmosphere created with Ed's presence, whether it was camping, winery touring, eating, or just hanging out. I am proud to say Ed is my brother. I say "is" because he will always live in my heart.  He was an amazing man...his reason for getting up every morning was to serve others.  He gave and gave and gave until he had nothing more, then left this earth.  No matter how hard I try I could never hope to be half the person he was.  I admired and loved him with all my heart.  I understand why Midge married him and my heart aches for her loss. His children and grandchildren have been cheated out of time with him that they had a right to. My heart goes out to them too. Ed Weir touched the Mohr family's lives in so many ways. He was gracious enough to sponsor both John and Tony through their BSA Eagle projects, donating his home work shop as the construction site, many of the materials, his expertise in carpentry, and most important his mentorship to our sons and fellow boy scouts. We also have been blessed to have purchased a former Habitat for Humanity Home which Ed was lead architect for. He assured us our home was built on a firm foundation! Of course it was, for is was built by Ed's hands, which in turn were guided by our Heavenly Father, whom Ed is now with! Thank you Ed Weir for being part of our family, and welcoming us into yours!

Midge, you and your family have been for along time, and still are in our prayers.  We have great memories of some fun times!  Thank you for sharing those times with us..

Ed and Midge were like sweethearts, even after all these years.  Very family oriented, great role models for all the young lives they have touched.  You are all in my prayers as you walk this journey.

So sad to hear about the death of a man I admired. Ed was always congenial and exuded enthusiasm for life whenever I was around him that he always brought a smile to my face. He will be sorely missed and my heart goes out to his beloved wife Midge. May he rest in eternal peace.
