

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from
3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Elda was born, April 18, 1923 in Kansas City, KS to Giovanni and Giovanna (Stefani) Follina. She attended Morris Grade School where she was an all-star athlete. Elda was a championship basketball player as well a star in track and field. Growing up Elda and her friends would often take day trips riding throughout the country side. She graduated from Turner High School where she was the drum majorette for the band. She also played the saxophone and violin. She attended UMKC. Elda and her sister Zaira proudly owned and managed EZ Liquors. Through her brother-in-law Jasper she started corresponding with her future husband Stephen L. Lipari during WWII. Elda married Stephen on April 23, 1946. Together they raised two children Veronica and Stephen. She started her career in the medical field working at Research Medical Center and ended her career working at the VA Medical Center. She was president of the American Cardiology Technicians Association.
Elda enjoyed studying Italian, making afghans and staying active. Her passion was painting. She loved spending time with her family more than anything, taking them on trips and traveling the world.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Zaira Brancato and brother-in-law Senator Jasper Brancato. Survivors include her sister Joan (Marion) Brancato; daughter Veronica Bonino; son Stephen John (Wanda) Lipari; grandchildren John A. (Rebekah) Bonino and Nick Bonino; nieces JoAnn (Joe) Cannova, Stefani Bancato and Andrea (Frank) Vovk.
