

Elizabeth Ann Hall Salisbury, 90 of Kansas City started on her eternal journey after peacefully passing at her home on October 17, 2012. She was born August 31, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph G. and Edith Hall. Elizabeth graduated from Central High School in 1939 where she was President of the Minerva Literary Society, Girl Reserves and Art Club; attended Kansas City Junior College where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Home Economics. She married Robert “Bob” B. Salisbury on August 5, 1942. She lived in Kansas City all of her life except for a few years during WWII when TWA transferred them to the East Coast around Washington, D.C. area. She was President of Chinn Elementary PTA several years; Member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church; Charter Member of Platte County Missouri Extension Club; and with her husband started the Platte Woods UMC Retirees Club. Recently she enjoyed all her friends at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Circle. Elizabeth enjoyed family dinners, sewing, cooking, knitting and other handicrafts. She started and coordinated the Platte Woods United Methodist Church Turkey Dinner with many church friends for eighteen plus years. Thanks to TWA, Elizabeth traveled around the world and especially enjoyed England and Germany. She was an active member of the Jayhawk Holiday Ramblers RV Club and served as a Camp Host in numerous National Parks. Elizabeth loved children. She touched the lives of many by giving loving care to them and was affectionately known by all as “Nanny”. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers. She is survived by her children JoAnn Harper and husband Chuck, Beth Hoff, and Jim Salisbury and wife Ann. Five grandchildren: Laura Harper, Greg (Nicole) Harper, Spencer Hoff, Benjamin (Sabrina) Salisbury, and Christine Salisbury. Two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Dakota.
