She went to grade school in Cameroon and when the family was done with their Missionary work they returned to the United States and continued her education. She graduated High School in Alexandria Egypt. Ellen continued higher education at Maryville, Tennessee at Maryville College. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She also completed her Master of Business Degree later in life while she was working for Sprint in Overland Park, Kansas.
Ellen worked at the National Education Association (NEA) for a couple of years in Washington, DC. She then moved to Kansas City and worked at a variety of jobs starting at US Safety, University of Kansas City Conservatory of Music, Business Men's Assurance of America, Dodson, Sprint and retired from T-Mobile.
She belonged to the Toast Masters and was involved in several bible study groups throughout the years. Ellen met Mark Evan Fawcett while attending Broadway Baptist Church. They were married in 1973 at Broadway Baptist. Later they attended Broadway United Methodist Church. In 1987 they joined the Evangelical Friends Church and have been there ever since.
Ellen was preceded in death by her father, Frank Gould, mother, Bertha (Cresswell) Gould, step-mother, Martha Gould, brother, James Gould and extended family.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Fawcett, brothers, Frank and John Gould and sister, Cheryl Smith.
Services for Ellen will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A funeral service will follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A committal service will take place at 3:00 pm in Mount Moriah Cemetery. A reception following services will occur at Willow Creek Friends Church, 9700 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64114 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
