

Emory Corrigan died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on March 23, 2015. Visitation from 6-8pm Fri., March 27th at St. Bernadette’s Church, 9020 E. 51st Terr., KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Sat. March 28th at the church. Interment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Emory was born November 25, 1920 to John & Divanna Corrigan. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. Emory graduated from Michigan State University and worked at General Motors, Leeds as a Tooling Dept. Supervisor for 34 years. He was ordained as a permanent Deacon in the Kansas City/St. Joseph Diocese in 1974 where he shares his full time ministry between the Diocesan Family Life Office & St. Bernadette’s Parish until his retirement. Active in his retirement, Emory was an avid woodcarver, photographer, golfer & fisherman. Emory worked tirelessly to gain petition signatures to promote fair & just “micro-loans.”
Emory was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marvin & Delbert. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Loretta; their three daughters, Connie Finnegan (John), Lori Corrigan & Teresa Miller (George); grandchildren, Bridgett, Julia, Sean, Kate, Emily, Tom & Greg; great grandchildren, Madalein, Amelie, Eila, Eliza, Emory, Eli & Luke as well as 7 nieces & nephews.
