Erika Vance, 58, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on August 5, 2015. Celebration of Erika’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 11 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Inurnment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, P.O. Box 97075, Washington, DC 20077. Erika was born May 30, 1957 in Billings, Montana, daughter of C. Dixon and Constance Vance. Erika graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School and earned an associate degree from Johnson County Community College. Erika loved her nieces, great nieces and nephews; she always remembered their birthdays and sending them cards on all of the holidays. Erika loved to travel. In recent years, she went to Alaska and Hawaii. Erika was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Alicia Avila. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Allen Vance of Kansas City, Missouri, sister Cynthia Knighton of Leawood, Kansas, nieces Emily Hess, Lily Huffaker, Jasmine, and nephew Spencer Huffaker.
