

Ernest Frederick Pierce Jr., 62, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Ernest (Ernie) was born in Syracuse, New York on June 7, 1948. He was extremely proud of his American Indian Heritage. He was Onondaga Nation, Eel Clan member. He graduated from State University of New York at Oneonta with a BS in Economics. He completed a Masters of Business Administration from Amos Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. In his career, he worked as merchandiser, exporting grains and petroleum products to international markets. He was the sole proprietor of Materials Recovery, a recycler and marketer of metals. Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Frederick Pierce Sr. and mother, Edna Lorinda Hill. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Pierce; son Jeffrey Pierce and wife Tanika; granddaughters Taylor and Paige; daughter Amanda Pierce, special friend Ryan and granddog Bubba; daughter Heather Pierce Pekar and husband Nick Pekar; sister Gail Lyons and husband King; nieces Sue and Maureen, nephew King Jr., their children and many cousins.
