

Ernestine Lee (Tina) Palmer Barber, 89, Kansas City North, passed away March 18, 2011. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 23rd at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday. Ernestine will be laid to rest beside her first husband in White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to North Care Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Ernestine was born April 14, 1921 in Mirabile, MO, the fifth of six children born to Frank and Helen Williams. In 1938 she married Royce G. Palmer of Polo, MO. Their marriage lasted until his death in 1981. Their union produced three children: Judith Kay, Larry Gordon and Michael Lee. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, also her brothers and sisters, her daughter Judith, her grandson Sean, and her first husband Royce.
In 1986 Ernestine married Gordon Lynn Barber and they had twenty-five years of happiness together. Both of her husbands were life-long TWA employees until their retirements. She worked for Wilcox Electric during World War II and later worked for Eppinger Printing, Lane Blue Print and Data Documents.
Survivors include her husband Lynn, 2 sons and their wives, Larry and Pam Palmer and Mike and Dani Palmer; step-daughter, Gail Smith and husband, Bill, step daughter-in-law, Carol Barber, four grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and ten combined great grandchildren.
Ernestine always had a smile for everyone she met and leaves countless friends whose lives she touched. She was always ready for a game, a party or a dance.
