Evelyn Stehlik Spangler, 97, Leawood, KS, passed away October 15, 2017. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm, Friday, October 20, in the Wesley Chapel at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS. Entombment will follow in the Faith II Mausoleum at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
Evelyn was born March 11, 1920 in Wilbur, NE, daughter of Adolf and Agnes K. (Kovar) Maca. She owned and operated Four Pines Retirement Home in Independence, MO for 40 years. Evelyn was a successful realtor in the area for decades. She was an avid gardener and also loved to travel. She served as President in the Missouri Nursing Home Association and was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband F. Earl Spangler and brother Vance Maca. Evelyn is survived by daughters Jacqueline Stehlik May and Carol Jo Beasley; granddaughters Jodee Santoro, Jill Beaulac, Staci McMullen and Jennifer Rios, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
