Felipe was born on August 11, 1961 in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, Mexico to Juan and Ramona (Nuñez) Navarro. He came to the United States in 1978. He worked as a CNC Grinder Machinist for a plastic fabrication company. He married the former Berta Rivera, and they enjoyed 32 years together. Felipe always put his family first. Whether it was helping his children practice a sport or being there to celebrate their accomplishments, he was always there. He was an avid learner and if he had an area of interest, he would scour over books and videos to further his understanding. In the years preceding his death, he was learning American Sign Language and taught what he could to his grandkids, including the sign for “I Love You.” He loved to bring a smile to everyone’s faces with attempts at magic, jokes or simply being silly. However, his most precious gift to his family was always his time. Felipe was always passionate about strengthening his relationship with God, and it was the Lord he put his trust in. He had a keen interest in the power of healing through prayer, and sought out numerous opportunities to strengthen this area of his faith. His outward relationship with God resonated with his family, friends and even strangers whom he had come into contact with. While never pushing his faith
onto others, he had a way of helping others find their own faith. He was cognizant that only a miracle, something he firmly believed in, would save his life. Yet, in his most dire moments, he did not focus solely on the possibility of a miracle because in his mind death was a win-win: either spend more time with his family here on earth or spend time with his Lord in Heaven.
Felipe was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother, Jose Guadalupe Navarro. He is survived by his wife, Berta; one son, Felipe de Jesus Navarro; three daughters, Berta Flynn (Adam), Judith Navarro, and Stephanie Murphy (Micheal); two brothers, Martin Navarro and Juan Navarro; three sisters, Margarita Navarro, Lourdes Palomar and Maria Goldsmith; four grandchildren, Romeo, Camila, Thomasand Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews.
