

Francis “Frank” M. Mullen, 84, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 1st, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, MO, with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Frank was born August 6, 1929, in Kansas City, MO to Francis and Helen (McDonough) Mullen. He graduated from De La Salle High School. He was a combat veteran in the Army during the Korean Conflict serving in North Korea and receiving the Bronze Star. He attended Rockhurst College and had a successful career in pharmaceutical sales. Frank retired from AstraZeneca in 1991. In 1956, he married the love of his life, La Donne Bailey, and together they lovingly raised three sons, Michael (Patty) Mullen, Thomas (Laurie) Mullen, and Timothy (Becky) Mullen. Frank and his daughters-in-law shared a mutual love of one another. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Michael, Molly, John, Patrick, Megan and Henry.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Donald and Terrance Mullen.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Villa Ventura, Garden Terrace and Kansas City Hospice House.
