

Frank J. Garcia, 60, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial was at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 12 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Cesar Chavez Ave. Kansas City, Missouri. Interment followed in Leavenworth National Cemetery with military honors. Friends were invited to call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at McGilley Midtown Funeral Home, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri where a Rosary was prayed at 6:00 .
Frank was born on November 24, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Frank L. and Elisa (Aviles) Garcia. A graduate of Westport High School, he served in the Marine Corp during Vietnam, and then later in the Army. He was a member of Knights of the Altar and the DAV and was a Boy Scout Master.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Phillip and Ruben. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Anita, of the home; daughters, Angela Arzola (Tony) of Gladstone, Missouri, Andrea Metcalf (Calvin) of Kansas City, Missouri and Rose Garcia-Hockett (Brett) of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Angel, Calvin, Isaac, Frank, Areadio, Santana, Noah, Vincent, Elena, Marisella, Sierra and Raina; Godsons, Paul Muro, Antwane Simpson and John Simpson; brother, Luis Garcia (Anita) of Prairie Village, Kansas; sisters, Beatrice Garcia (Jesse) of Prairie Village, Kansas, Guadalupe Marquez of Kansas City, Missouri, and Elisa Valerio of Kansas City, Missouri; Marine brother, Jesse Acosta of Phoenix, Arizona and many relatives and friends.
