He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1965. In 1966, Gary joined the U.S. Air Force, based at Lackland Air Force Base. He worked for Armco Steel for 28 years. In 1995, he moved to Lincoln, NE, where he worked for Lincoln Composites. He had a passion for hunting. One of his favorite times of the year was deer season. He would travel to Jameson, MO, to spend time with his boys and grandkids and have a few beers with the Jameson crew.
He is survived by his Aunt Carol Leavitt, sons Gregory Lynn (Melissa), Ryan Lynn (Stephanie), and grandchildren Christian Lynn (Lauren), Kaylee Lynn (Dylan), Audrey Lynn, and Allyson Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley & George Lynn, and sister Pamela Luckey.

A celebration of life will be held later this year.
