With heavy hearts, we share that Gene (Sandy) Humo passed away at 85 years young on February 17th surrounded by loved ones. Sandy fought a courageous battle against Parkinson's and congestive heart failure for over a year.
Born on March 10, 1940 in Shelbina, Missouri, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service. Sandy served in the army (1963-65) and referred to this time as some of the best of his life. He was a father, grandfather, brother, friend, and role model to many and will be remembered for quiet kindness, devotion to family, and incredible creativity. Over Sandy’s 85 years, he sowed love and the harvest of love he reaped in his final days was evident in the many who stood by his side to his final breath.
Sandy owned his own interior design company (Sandy Humo Interiors) for over 30 years, leaving his thumb print on hundreds of homes. For many of us, our homes were his canvas. If he provided this service to you, the family requests you submit images to [email protected]
He loved art, music, antiquing, and rock hounding. His greatest joy was his children–Susan Morgan (Ron), Lee Humo, Paula Meason (David), and Nancy Damron (Bart). He was grandfather to 6 and great grandfather to 4. Sandy was preceded in death by his parents (Marjorie Merrill Humo and Oliver Onni Humo) and his son (Aaron Lee Humo). He is survived by his daughters and his siblings (Vicky Sonneborn and Terry Humo).
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
